A Preschooler Favorite: Prep Bowls (aka “Dip-Dip Bowls”)

Anyone with a preschooler knows the obsession they have with dipping sauces. In our house it can be anything — ketchup, mayo, hummus, mustard, carmel sauce, apple sauce, etc.

No matter how gross it can be at times (hot dogs and apple sauce anyone? Or how about mustard and apples?)….it all comes down to the fact that “dip dips” make everything better in the mind of a preschooler.

If a couple tablespoons of ketchup can get my little one to eat a half a pound of carrots…I’m all for it.

These are the little babies that we use EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. Not only for my preschooler and toddler, but for myself as well.

These prep bowls are perfect for cooking too! They are just  a couple inches in height and diameter and made of  flexible silicone —  perfect for bending to funnel ingredients. Another bonus is they don’t take on the taste or smell of the ingredients you put in them. The icing on the cake? They are dishwasher AND microwave safe. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Not only are they good for cooking purposes and for little hands or little portions, but they are also useful for other things as well. For instance, we’ve used them to hold sequins, crafting pom-poms, water for water colors, paint…the possibilities are endless.

I consider this a kitchen essential, but also a kiddie essential in our house… grab yourself some and you’ll have one happy kiddo.
